A collection of photographs and stories set to open in Winnipeg this Friday is shining a light on the perspectives of talented young artists.
Planting Seeds of Change: Voices of Indigenous Youth will be on display at Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art Gallery from July 20 – August 11.
One of the exhibitions from Brandon University focuses on giving back and learning about that community. The other show is from artists at Ndinawe Resource Centre (NRC) in Winnipeg, where about 50 young people drop-in each day for support, resources, planned activities or special events.

Artist Gabrielle Fiddler said her exhibition projects were based around identity. One of her designs is called “thought for food.”
“I kind of like learned something about myself and other people because I wanted to figure out why people want to art and how they would express it,” Fiddler said.
“It’s nice to see what people come up with because everyone’s different.”
