Remains of missing Kelowna man found in Kamloops

Police say the remains of a missing Kelowna man were found last week in Kamloops.

According to the RCMP, the remains of Martin Thiffault were discovered along the banks of the Thompson River near the Kamloops Airport on Friday, July 6, at approximately 4:30 p.m. The body was positively identified, and now the B.C. Coroners Service is investigating.

Police say Thiffault was last heard from on April 19 in the Kelowna area. RCMP say they were made aware of his disappearance on April 24, at which time a missing person’s investigation was launched.

Police added that Thiffault’s next of kin have been notified, and that no more information will be available.
