SONY MAKES A NICE EREADER

Sony’s newest 6-inch Reader PRS-T2, $139, is a big improvement
over recent eReader models. It has a cleaner easier to read screen and the
pages turn faster without the annoying momentary dark screen between pages.

Available in white, red or matte black, the feather-light
reader’s glare-free E-Ink Pearl touchscreen is responsive and viewable from any
angle. The layout is easy to follow for accessing the included useful apps. This includes text and free-hand notes. with the included stylus.

Two English and four translators are included, including
French and the two month battery life makes it a carefree travelling companion.

The Facebook app letsyour share a short passage from a
purchased book along with the book cover, author and title. New Evernote features
for saving favourite passages for viewing later on any smartphone, tablet or PC
stretch the book reading experience to a new level.

The ability to access books from libraries, including
hundreds in Canada is a cool feature for free reading. The choices are improving
but it’s still a hit and miss.

Sony Reader Store accounts are accessible from any browser
for reading from any device, in case you don’t have your reader with you.
