Another speeder’s car seized by Saskatoon police

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have seized another speeder’s vehicle today as a result of excessive speed violations and poor driving history.

Before noon, a 55-year-old Meadow Lake man was issued a $432 ticket after traffic unit members clocked his vehicle going 53 km/h over the speed limit through the intersection of Marquis Drive and Highway 16.

The man’s previous driving history led to the seizure of his vehicle under the Traffic Safety Act.

A 62-year-old Saskatoon man was issued a $400 ticket during the lunch hour today after he was caught speeding in a school zone.

A traffic unit member was conducting speed enforcement on 33rd Street and clocked the vehicle travelling 80 km/hr.

Further investigation of the man’s driving record, also resulted in his vehicle being seized.

Last Friday, another Saskatoon man’s vehicle was seized after he was clocked going 70 km/hr over the speed limit near two local high schools.

The Saskatoon Police Service is reminding motorists that speed limits are set to ensure everyone’s safety and they will be strictly enforced.
