SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have issued a 19-year-old man a $500 speeding ticket and seized his vehicle after radar clocked him going 70 km/h over the speed limit.

On Friday, members of the traffic unit clocked a vehicle speeding near Tommy Douglas Collegiate and Bethlehem Catholic High School around 11 a.m.

The driver’s speed was recorded at 130 km/hr in the 60 km/hr zone.

His vehicle was seized after it was discovered that this was the second time the Saskatoon motorist had been caught exceeding the speed limit by over 50 km/hr.
