Hamilton police are investigating two other incidents where a child abduction suspect may have had interactions with young girls.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after police were called about a child being taken from her mother’s side while they were waiting at a crosswalk near Jackson Square. Witnesses intervened and the mother was able to regain contact with the four-year-old, police said.

The suspect, whom police have not named, was charged with child abduction.

Police said on Thursday that in addition to that incident, they have learned that a woman believed to be the accused had an interaction with a young female at the corner of King Street and James Street North earlier that day at about 9:50 a.m.
