HTC Newest Smartphones Come in all Sizes and Prices

 Check out today’s GlobalTV Morning
News Tech Untangled segment with co-host Mike Sobel:http://www.globaltvedmonton.com/video/index.html?releasePID=0IdB4K7g5zi8S11wQGd7ozC4W5zmQ3dR

Today we check out three recent phones
from HTC. They come at different price points, size and functions. They all
feature Mobile WiFi hotspot for connecting up
to eight WiFi devices, HTML browsing and Adobe Flash 10.1 for a rich Internet
experience.

The HTS Status coming soon from Telus
looks like a traditional BlackBerry, minus the navigation ball or touch button,
but has many cool features, like a generously large and sharp touch screen and
comfortable keyboard.

Its best feature is the unique
integration with Facebook via a special blue Facebook button on the lower right
of the phone.  The button
has different functions depending on what you are doing with the phone.

Pressing the Facebook button example,
while in camera mode, captures and uploads your picture on your Facebook page.
You can share things like album art, music you listen to or places you visit
online.

Pressing and holding the Facebook
button let’s you check in places while you can update your status from the home
screen.

You can video chat, email, picture
message, and instant message.

I found the multi-email setup on Telus
to be the best from all HTC phones I tried ion this lot, even easily setting up
Microsoft’s  live.ca
accounts which many phones will not do automatically.

The HTC Sensation 4G has the newest
version of HTC Sense with HTC Watch. It features dual-core processors and a
huge 4.3-inch HD 540 X 960 screen and 1080p HD video capture and
output as well as an 8 megapixel camera with extra bright dual LED flash.

It offers 4G network speeds at 14.4
Mbps with both Bell
and Virgin Mobile and is the closest thing to a tablet you can put in any
pocket. But it’s still a big phone so make sure you are comfortable with its
size. If fast download and streaming movies is your thing, this phone does it
all.

It has FriendStream which allows you to
see Facebook, Twitter and Flickr on one screen.

Available at Bell at www.bell.ca for 549.95 or $149.95 for 3-year
contract or at Virgin Mobile retail locations like The Source, T-Booth,
Wireless Wave, Future Shop, Best Buy and Visions for $549.99 or $149.99 with a
no term contract on the Virgin Mobile SuperTab.

The HTC Wildfire S is an affordable,
compact entry level smartphone  from
www.bell.ca for $249.95 or 29.95 with a 3-year term
plan.

This phone is tiny, HTC’s smallest
phones ever – measuring 10.13cm long and 5.94cm wide with a 3.2-inch SVGA
screen, which compared to its bigger siblings above, is noticeably not as
sharp, thus its affordable price.

Still, it’s all Android. Lot’s of Apps on the Market, multi-tasking, FriendStream,
like the Sensation which BTW, can update all your profiles at once.

It has a 5 megapixel camera but the
video recording is not HD, but good enough for sharing on small screens.
