Help for Consumers with Utility and Telecommunications Complaints.

I get a lot of complaints about utility accounts and phone contracts.

A lot of the time they're linked to computer errors or customer service problems but it takes consumers weeks and months to convince the company to take their complaint seriously.

Here are two agencies which can help cut through the bureaucracy and solve problems faster.

If you have a problem with a utility bill or contract (gas, electricity) try Alberta's Utility Consumer Advocate: www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca

They can help with things like over-billing mistakes and disconnection notices.

If you're having a problem with home phone, wireless or internet services, bills or contracts you can contact the new Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunication Services: www.ccts-cprst.ca

Hope this helps.
