A small amount of methyl alcohol leaked from a tote hauled on a flatbed trailer at a north end Saskatoon truck stop early Wednesday morning.
A Saskatoon Fire Department spokesperson said the chemical leaked from a couple of pinholes in the tote parked at the Husky on Marquis Drive.
The driver immediately set up a dike to prevent run off and the fire department set up a hot zone as methyl alcohol is flammable.
Assistant fire chief Wayne Rodger said roughly five per cent of the chemical leaked but at no time was there a risk to the public.
Arrangements were made with a private contractor to empty the contents of the tote to another container, which was completed just after 10:15 a.m.
There are no reports of any injuries.
