Edmonton’s new premium outlet mall is on track to open its doors officially on May 2 and on Wednesday, Global News got a sneak peek inside.

The mall, located next to the Edmonton International Airport, boasts 428,000 square feet of retail space. There is room for 100 stores, including Forever 21, Nike Factory Store, H&M and Old Navy Outlet. Marshalls will open in the summer of 2018.

“An outlet often is an open-air, quick in, quick out but we’re creating a different environment here,” said John Scott of Ivanhoe Cambridge, the company in charge of building the mall.
The mall is also trying to blend online and in-store shopping.
There will be a showroom of Genesis Luxury Vehicles where shoppers can physically see a car, then order it online to be delivered a home address.
There will be a shipping department for customers who don’t want to carry purchases on to a plane. There will also be a shuttle to and from the airport and flight information boards near the food court.

The mall will also feature a spot for local vendors that also features Eat Clean, a place with healthier food options.
