With construction nearing completion on the outlet mall near the Edmonton International Airport, a job fair will be held to fill more than 1,000 new jobs.

A two-day career fair will be held on March 24 and 25 to fill about 1,300 new jobs at the Premium Outlet Collection Edmonton International Airport.

More than 40 retailers will be on site for the job fair, which will be held in the Cartier Ballroom at the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel by Marriott.

Once open, the 428,000-square-foot outlet mall will be home to more than 100 retailers and six anchor tenants.

“We’re extremely proud to be bringing this new guest-focused shopping experience to Edmonton and surrounding areas, providing an enhanced-value proposition to both shoppers and the Alberta capital region,” said Jason Bos, genera

“This unique centre is expected to be a sought-after shopping destination, drawing value-seeking, fashion-conscious shoppers, travellers in transit and tourists visiting the province.”

The airport lands are bustling with new development; a new Costco warehouse will open in the area in late 2018.

Several other commercial and retail developments will also come to fruition in the coming year, including Red Cup Distillery.

Construction is underway on a second hotel at the airport – Fairfield Inn by Marriott, set to open in early 2019 – and work continues on the 800,000-square-foot Aurora Cannabis facility.

EIA also announced earlier this year it has entered into an agreement with Dogtopia to open a new dog daycare, boarding and spa facility. It’s expected to open in the fall of 2018.
