Saskatoon police continue to search for leads in a three-year-old homicide.
Danil Tsannie, 16, was found dead outside a home in the 100-block of Avenue I North on April 1, 2015.
An autopsy confirmed he died from a gunshot wound.
Investigators said he had gone to the home around midnight that day with the intention of spending the night.
Tsannie was involved in a gang at the time of his death, which police said impacted their investigation at the time.
Police said people have since come forward, which has given investigators more details as to what happened that day.
No arrests have been made in the case, however.
Investigators believe there are people who were close to Tsannie who are withholding information that will assist with the investigation.
The Tsannie family has provided a video to police, pleading with anyone who has information to come forward.
In the video, Danil’s brother Jonathan Tsannie says his mother is scared of those who killed her son.
“He was a very young, vulnerable kid willing to do anything, and they used him for a lot of bad crap.”
Jonathan added that his brother had become friends with the wrong people and was dead within months of meeting them.
Saskatoon police are asking anyone with information that will help them solve Tsannie’s homicide to contact them at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
