A man was taken to hospital after he was stabbed several times in northeast Edmonton early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to 144 Avenue, east of 82 Street, just after midnight.
“Upon our arrival, we found a male victim, with multiple stab wounds to the abdominal area,” Edmonton Police Service Staff-Sgt. David DeMarco said.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police a suspect had fled the area, heading south.
“With use of EPS canine and other EPS resources, a track led us to a suspect a few blocks to the southeast. He is in custody,” DeMarco said.
Part of the road was blocked off with police tape while officers investigated. A Mazda and a backpack on the ground could be seen inside the tape, along with a white, older model minivan.
Police didn’t know what the motive was.
