As a member of the well known hip hop group, Winnipeg’s Most, he raps about drugs, money and Winnipeg.
But William Pierson, also known as Jon-C, likely won’t be rapping about his day in court, Monday.
33-year old Pierson is fighting drug trafficking charges from 2008, claiming police didn’t have enough information to obtain a search warrant when officers raided his Church Avenue home. And if a Judge agrees with him, the charges could be stayed.
“The reality is, they may find drugs it may be on that individuals person, it may be in the car, or in the residence,” said Michael Weinrath, Criminology Professor at the University of Winnipeg, “that case will be thrown out if the police were found to not follow proper legal procedure.”

Police found cocaine and marijuana, alleging Pierson supplied drugs to dealers.
But even the Judge admits, details from an informant were vague.
“It’s pretty loosey, goosey,” said Justice Doug Abra, “the search warrant doesn’t even say if the people came out the side, back or front door.”
Along with fighting 2008 drug charges, Pierson faces more drug and weapons charges when police raided a home on Lansdowne Avenue in November 2012.
Officers found thousands of dollars worth of cocaine and marijuana and body armor. None of these charges have been proven in court.
Winnipeg’s Most has won several music awards, crediting their music for keeping them away from drugs and gangs.
The Judge will release his decision Friday.
