The Vernon Winter Carnival Society is concerned it could soon be without a home.

Chair Deb White was before city council Monday asking for help after getting six months eviction notice from their site on 35th Avenue, which is owned by the City.

White said they’re asking the city for help in finding another site, or to stay in their current location until they find something else.

Council will discuss the request at its next meeting.

Mayor Akbal Mund said the building is no longer safe after issues with flooding, and the City wants to tear it down.
