A threat to an employee at the Canada Revenue Agency office in the 9700-block of King George Boulevard in Surrey triggered a police response that closed off 134 Street to traffic between 96 and 98 Avenue on Thursday.
Police responded to the area at about 10:15 a.m. after the employee received the threat, according to an RCMP news release.
The area was cordoned off by officers and access to the employee’s parking area was closed, though employees were not evacuated from the building.
A “suspicious object” was found in the parking garage, but further investigation determined that it didn’t threaten public safety.
