Calgary’s Women in Need Society could close family resource centres if $500K isn’t raised

A Calgary charity is facing a funding shortfall. The Women in Need Society (WINS) says the demand for their family aid services is outpacing sales at their retail stores, which have seen decreased revenues.

WINS currently operates five thrift stores, a donation centre, a free good referral program and four family resource centres.

The resource centres will undergo a temporary closure starting in March, which could become permanent unless half a million dollars is raised.

They’re asking Calgarians to help by donating or shopping at WINS stores.
