The federal government is contributing almost $2.6 million from its Gas Tax Fund for improvements to Lumby’s Pat Duke Arena.

The work includes four new change rooms and upgrades to the existing rooms.

Other upgrades will improve energy efficiency and handicap accessibility at the arena which was built in 1967.

The total cost of the project is $3 million with the funds including $100,000 won by Lumby through the Kraft Hockeyville contest.
