The Edmonton Eskimos have signed international defensive lineman Da’Quan Bowers to a two-year contract extension which will take him to the end of the 2019 CFL season.
In his first CFL season in 2017, Bowers played 14 games for the Eskimos, recording 17 defensive tackles, one interception, and seven quarterback sacks, which tied him for second on the team.
Bowers tied for the second-most sacks among defensive tackles in the league last season.
In other related news, former Eskimos linebacker Alex Hoffman-Ellis has announced his retirement after a four-year CFL career.
Hoffman-Ellis spent his last two seasons with the Eskimos, playing in 19 games and recording 34 defensive tackles, four tackles on special teams, and one fumble recovery.
He played in four playoff games.
