HALDIMAND COUNTY, Ont. – Police say a woman has died after her vehicle hit a roadside utility pole in southern Ontario.
Officers say the woman was heading southbound on a highway in Walpole Township, Ont., shortly after 1 a.m. Friday when her vehicle crossed through the opposite lane and struck the pole.
Police say the woman was thrown from the vehicle.
Authorities say they learned of the collision from a passerby who saw a downed power line and the woman’s vehicle, which had rolled into a ditch beside the highway.
Police say they will not release the woman’s name at this time.
