2 Halifax-area high schools temporarily locked down after reports of men carrying gun cases

Two Halifax-area high schools were placed on lockdown Monday morning after police received two complaints of a pair of men carrying gun cases in the area.

Nova Scotia RCMP say they issued the lockdown order was issued as a precautionary measure.  Police have since ended the lockdowns at Auburn High School and Cole Harbour High School.

According to the Mounties, the two men were reported to be seen in the area of Clermont Crescent and Merrimac Drive.

RCMP say they searched the area for roughly two hours but were not able to locate anyone.

The investigation is ongoing.
