Suspects signing up for pricey phones with fake IDs in Maritimes: Halifax police

Police in Halifax are trying to find two suspects who are allegedly travelling throughout the Maritimes and obtaining expensive cellphones with fake drivers licences and social insurance numbers.

According to police, two men went to two separate cellphone providers on Feb. 21 and 22 and signed up for the high-priced phones with fraudulent ID from Ontario and B.C.

Halifax Regional Police have released surveillance camera images of two men.

One suspect is described as a black man, with trimmed curly hair, a goatee and brown eyes. He is in his early to mid 20s, about six-feet tall and has a slim build. He was wearing a blue dress shirt, black dress pants and had a diamond earring in his left ear.

The other suspect is described as a white man with receding medium-dark brown hair and a goatee. He is also in his early to mid 20s, about six-feet tall and has a slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black sweater and light brown pants.
