WINNIPEG – A train collision caused traffic headaches during the morning drive Thursday.
Police said a train derailment just after 7 a.m. brought traffic to a stop on the east Perimeter Highway near Dugald Road.
Aerial views from Global Winnipeg’s Skyview1 helicopter show two trains collided east of the Transcona railway yards. One of the trains had been crossing the Perimeter and remained stretched across the highway for hours as crews worked to move the trains.
Ravenhurst Street between Pandora Avenue and Dugald Road was closed to traffic. Police asked motorists to avoid the area.
