WINNIPEG – A house fire in Mantioba’s Interlake region has proven deadly.

Fire crews were called to the Wasagamack First Nation just after 10 a.m. Friday morning after hearing about a house fire in the Island Lake-area community.

By the time RCMP arrived at the home, it had been destroyed by the fire.

Investigators found two bodies inside the home. Officers are waiting on for a post mortem to confirm their identities.

The cause of the fire has been deemed accidental and was caused by careless cooking.
