An Alberta tour bus driver charged in the 2016 crash that killed one tourist and injured another has pleaded guilty in Canmore court.
On Sept. 1 2016, a Hainan Airlines bus was stopped at the Castle lookout along the TransCanada Highway in Banff National Park. Tourists from the bus had left the bus to take photos when the empty bus rolled forward into the river.
The bus struck two tourists who were thrown through a fence and down a steep embankment before landing on the ground near the river.

A 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the scene. A 55-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Jian Song was originally charged with careless driving. He was sentenced on Feb. 20 after pleading guilty to improperly parking on a hill.
He was issued a $2,300 fine and his licence was suspended for 30 days.
