Doug Ford’s campaign to become the next leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservatives will include stops in Peterborough and Lindsay.
Ford will be in Peterborough on Wednesday morning at the Carousel Restaurant in Peterborough from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. The riding of Peterborough has been held by Liberal MPP Jeff Leal since 2003.
Later that night he will be in Lindsay for a meet-and-greet session at the Howard Johnson Inn on Lindsay St. S. from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PC MPP Laurie Scott has represented the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock riding since 2011.
Ford, 53, the brother of the late Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, will running for the party’s top spot against former party leader Patrick Brown who resigned last month over allegations of sexual misconduct; Caroline Mulroney, Christine Elliott and Tanya Granic Allen.
Voting for a new party leader will run the first week of March with the winner declared on March 10. The provincial election is set for June 7.
