Shymr nets 3 in Saskatoon Blades win over Calgary Hitmen

Braylon Shmyr had a hat trick to power the Saskatoon Blades over the Calgary Hitmen 5-1 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Max Gerlach and Brad Goethals also scored for Saskatoon (30-27-3).

Jakob Stukel had the lone goal for Calgary (17-33-7).

Nolan Maier had 32 saves in the win while Nick Schneider turned aside 25 shots in the loss.

The Blades went 1 for 3 on the power play while Calgary went 0 for 4 with the man advantage.

Saskatoon is now six points ahead of the Prince Albert Raiders for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Blades are back in action Monday afternoon when they head to Edmonton to take on the Oil Kings.
