A group of old timer hockey players from Kamloops was honoured today for rescuing a woman from the frigid Thompson river.
Tom Blair, Bert Kent and Bob Reid were among 24 recipients of this year’s bravery awards from the Lifesaving Society.

More than a month ago, members of the Old Dogs hockey team were finishing lunch at a Kamloops club following a game.
The trio leapt into action after hearing a woman who had ventured out onto the ice had slipped and fallen into the water.
They pulled her to safety by forming a human chain.
