Calgary homicide suspect arrested in Edmonton

EDMONTON- A man who was wanted in connection with a homicide in Calgary has been arrested in Edmonton.

Around 6:30a.m. Sunday, March 17, police responded to an altercation near 4th Street SE and Dermot Baldwin Way in Calgary.

Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious man suffering from stab wounds. 42-year-old John Gordon Walmsley, of Calgary, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

Following an investigation by the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit, with the help of officers from the Edmonton Police Service, a male suspect was arrested in Edmonton on Friday.

The suspect’s name has not been released. Calgary police officers say the man is currently being interviewed by detectives.
