OTTAWA – Ottawa police say a 76-year-old retired priest charged in sex-related incidents against children is now facing additional charges.
Jacques Faucher is now charged with six additional accounts of gross indecency and indecent assault.
Faucher was already charged with one count each of gross indecency and indecent assault in connection with allegations of sexual abuse that date back to the early 1970s.
In November, Ottawa police began investigating a series of alleged incidents involving a retired priest and a seven-year-old boy that occurred in Ottawa between 1971 and 1973.
It’s not clear if the new charges relate to the same victim or to additional victims.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their investigation.
