SASKATOON – A giant three story icicle at an apartment building has been ordered removed by the Saskatoon fire department.
A fire inspector went to the building at 1115 Avenue W North on Monday to determine if the icicle was a potential public hazard.
While there, the inspector met a contractor who stated it would be removed.
As of yesterday, the icicle was still there with no indication it was being taken down.
An order was then issued to the owner under property maintenance bylaw 8175 to have the icicle removed within 24 hours or the fire department would move in.
Fire officials say the icicle will be gone by the end of today.
