One person is dead following a crash on Highway 7 in Havelock on Wednesday morning.
OPP closed the highway in both directions between Weller Road and Belmont 7th Line on the east side of the village, about 45 kilometres east of Peterborough.
Emergency personnel were called just before 10 a.m. and discovered an eastbound minivan which had left the highway and had struck a tree.
OPP say several witnesses reported hearing a lot noise around 2 a.m. however the vehicle wasn’t discovered until 10 a.m.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, OPP told CHEX News at the scene.
The name has not been released.

The highway was reopened around 1 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
