The park-goer snapped a picture Saturday of a wolf devouring what appeared to be a deer carcass in Birds Hill Park.

A spokesperson for Manitoba Conservation confirmed that the animal in the image is a wolf. The man who took the picture says it happened on South Drive between Burr Oak Trail and Pine Ridge Hollow in Birds Hill Park, located roughly 30 km from downtown Winnipeg.

Last year, conservation officers trapped and killed a wolf in Birds Hill Park that was suspected of having preyed on a pet dog from a nearby home.
