Hamilton police are asking the public for help in finding a missing 29-year-old woman.
Holly Hamilton was reported missing on Monday. She was last seen by members of her family Sunday night.
This disappearance is described as out of character for her.
“She has a young daughter and she’s employed with a cleaning service,” Hamilton police Staff Sgt. Dave Oleniuk said. “She’s very conscientious in showing up for work and being in touch with her family on an ongoing basis.”
Police say they are concerned for Hamilton’s safety, and the homicide squad is investigating the case as a result.
“Just because of the overall circumstances it was referred down to the homicide unit just so we could throw the full weight of the service behind this investigation,” he said.
Oleniuk said police are looking to locate the woman’s ex-boyfriend, who she is said to have seen in the last few days.
Investigators haven’t released his name — he isn’t wanted in the case — but police are interested in talking to him to clarify the circumstances of their meeting.
Hamilton drives a 1996 Ford Escort, white in colour, with licence plate BRBL 996.
She is described as a black female, 5-foot-7, 170 pounds with long black hair.
She was last seen wearing a black parka-style jacket with brown fur on the hood and blue jeans.
