Two men in their 30s are recovering in hospital after an argument inside an apartment in Montreal’s Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough, got out of hand.

Montreal police (SPVM) were called to the building at around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

“A 911 call was made for a conflict that was heard in an apartment on 22 Avenue, not far from Crémazie Boulevard,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

When officers arrived at the scene they located the two men, both with head injuries.

Both are in hospital and are expected to recover.

A perimeter has been set up on 22 Avenue to allow for the investigation.

“Investigators are on their way with crime scene technicians to try to understand a bit more the cause and circumstances that led to that conflict,” Brabant said. “We’re still gathering information, we’ll try to know first of all if they knew each other, what the conflict was about, if they were known by our services.”
