A woman has died following a hit-and-run in Vancouver’s West End.
The woman was struck by a vehicle at around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning near Pendrell St. and Bute St.

Vancouver police say she was rushed to hospital, where she died a short time later.
Officials say a van allegedly involved in the incident left the area but was found not far away. The driver of the van, a 47-year-old man, has been taken into custody.

Police say investigators will be at the scene throughout the day collecting evidence. The victim has not been identified.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
