The ever-debated Christmas question: Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?
While the plot of the movie revolves around everyday hero, John McClane, attending a Christmas Eve party at Nakatomi Plaza and trying to make it home in time for Christmas, a new poll suggests that most people believe that it is NOT a Christmas movie.
A poll was conducted by YouGov to determine whether a movie that takes place at Christmas time, but is not about Christmas itself, is a Christmas movie or not. For fans of Die Hard at Christmas time, the results do not look good.
Of those surveyed, 50% believe that a movie that takes place at Christmas time, but is not about Christmas itself, is NOT a Christmas movie. Only 31% of people believe that it counts as a Christmas movie, and the remaining 29% were unsure.
How can you be unsure?! While the sequels, we can agree, have nothing to do with Christmas, it wouldn’t really a true holiday season without seeing John McClane beating some terrorist butt!
