After issuing a Canada-wide warrant for 19 year-old Lindsey Allen Bruno on February 8th, RCMP say they arrested him for second degree murder in Samson Cree Nation in Hobbema on Tuesday.
Bruno was taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of 16 year-old Levonne Baptiste that occurred shortly after 4 a.m. February 2nd, 2013 on the Samson Cree Nation, located about 90 kilometres south of Edmonton.

“Police..came across a 16-year-old youth who had been shot, injured in a shooting incident,” RCMP Constable Perry Cardinal explained then.
The teen later died of his injuries.
“We’ve received tremendous support from the community members of Hobbema. It’s as a direct result of their willingness to work with the police that we were able to lay charges this quickly,” said Insp. Charles Wood, Officer in Charge of Hobbema RCMP Detachment. “These charges send a strong message that the people of Hobbema have chosen to break down the wall of silence. This represents the success that we can achieve when the community and the RCMP work together, shoulder to shoulder.”
The inspector reiterated his gratitude for the community support and assistance in the investigation that led to Tuesday’s arrest in a release.
