The ‘88 Olympic Winter Olympics in Calgary were widely considered the best-organized and friendliest games in Olympic history. A member of the International Olympic Committee told Calgary Mayor Ralph Klein “Everything is perfect!”
The Olympics transformed the city. Cowtown – a city of just over 657,000 at the time, was on the world stage, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors.
