Spokesman Robin Simmons says three passengers – a 54-year-old man, a 52-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man – were arrested.

Simmons says the three were later released on bail.

He would not confirm a CBC report the incident involved smoking on the plane.

Police say the plane’s crew and passengers stayed in hotels overnight and the aircraft resumed its journey on Saturday.
