Google also ranked as the most influential brand in the world.
The second annual Most Influential Brands Study, conducted by the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) and Ipsos Reid, surveyed over 5,000 Canadian adults for the study.
“The study recognizes the vitality and significance of the communications industry in building dynamic and influential brands in this rapidly changing world, where consumers are spending increasing time with media and devices,” said ICA CEO Gillian Graham in a press release.
Of the top ten, Microsoft was ranked second, down from the number one spot last year, followed by Apple, Facebook, Walmart, Visa, YouTube, Tim Hortons, AirMiles and CBC. According to the study, the top ten brands excelled at building influence and driving preference in a competitive marketplace.
