Saskatoon police launch homicide case after man with gunshot wound dies

Saskatoon police have launched the city’s fifth homicide investigation of 2017 after a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound passed away.

A 911 caller reported that a man has been shot at a home in the 200-block of Avenue V South at around 6 a.m. CT on Nov. 4.

Officers found the man suffering from a small-calibre gunshot wound to his abdomen.  He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

He died in hospital on Nov. 11. Police have not released his name.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday.

Investigators from the major crime section are investigating along with other police units.
