Manitoba women at risk, sex-offender at large: Police

Quentin Sumner was later located and arrested by police

Winnipeg police and RCMP put out a call for help from the public Tuesday to locate a high-risk sex offender.

The Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU) said Quentin Allan Sumner is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of probation.

Sumner is described as 5’9″, 246 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and multiple tattoos.

He was deemed likely to re-offend sexually and violently, police warned, they said all women are at risk.

The 40-year-old was declared a long-term offender in 2005 after having been convicted of sexual assault and given a five-year supervision order. After being charged with several offences again in 2007, including sexual assault and forcible confinement, a judge extended the supervision order to 10 years.
