UPDATE: Precautionary drinking water advisory ended at Saskatoon City Hospital
Saskatoon City Hospital is under a precautionary drinking water advisory (PDWA).
The PDWA was issued Tuesday morning due to a significant drop in water pressure in the area.
The PDWA is expected to last for at least 24 hours.
Saskatoon Health Region (SHR) officials said it is not yet known if the drop in pressure is related to a water main break Monday night in the downtown core.
Under the PDWA, tap water is not to be consumed and cannot be used in sterile procedures or surgeries.
Tap water can continue to be used for normal hand hygiene and toilet flushing.
SHR officials said they are looking to bring in alternate sources of water to ensure procedures can continue, but added some delays may be experienced.
