Edmonton Oil Kings ready for Star Wars Night

The Force is with the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The WHL team will wear Star Wars-themed jerseys Saturday, Nov. 4, when they host the Saskatoon Blades at Rogers Place.

The jerseys will be auctioned off to fans with proceeds going to Sorrentino’s Compassion House.

Oil Kings director of business operations, Kevin Radomski, said Lucasfilm approved the jerseys.

“We sent our template of this jersey to Lucasfilm with no edits. They approved it. It was astounding.

“They liked these jerseys so much, they asked us to make five custom that we’re shipping off to California,” Radomski said.

The jerseys also feature drawings of Star Wars ships.

“Edmonton Oil Kings” is written in a language from the Star Wars universe along the cuff.

The Oil Kings also created a custom, full-sized light saber with a team logo on the handle. It will also be up for auction.
