Investigators from the Calgary Police Service child abuse unit are investigating after a 15-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted on a public bus three-and-a-half weeks ago.
Police are asking for help from the public to identify a man “believed to be connected to the case.”
The teen got on an empty bus in the area of Centre Street South and 4 Avenue S.E. on Sunday, Oct. 1 at about 3 p.m., police said. At the next stop, a man got on and sat next to her at the back of the bus.
“A short time later, the suspect allegedly took off his leather jacket and placed it across his lap as well as the victim’s lap,” police said in a statement. “He then allegedly proceeded to sexually assault the teen.”

Police said the victim’s requests for the man to stop didn’t deter him, so she stood up and moved to another area of the bus. As she passed him, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted her again.
The teen moved to a different part of the bus and got off at the next stop; the man got off at the 64 Avenue and Centre Street North stop, police said.
Police describe the man as about 5’8” and 160 pounds with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing light-coloured pants and a dark shirt under a black leather jacket, police said.
