Thousands attend Town Hall meeting to discuss #savebcfilm movement

More than 2,000 people crammed into the North Shore Studios Tuesday night to attend a Town Hall meeting to discuss the future of B.C. motion picture industry.

Productions are leaving B.C. and heading for greener pastures, where tax credits and incentives are plentiful, forcing Hollywood North to fall out of the third top spot of places to shoot in North America.

According to the film industry, B.C. is losing film and television productions to places like Ontario, California, and New York.

Those jurisdictions are offering better tax credits and other financial incentives.

Many are now demanding for Premier Christy Clark to develop a plan to bolster the industry, but they are not waiting around.

Over the last few days, thousands of industry supporters have expressed their concerns through social and traditional media. A Twitter account has also been set up for the movement called @WeCreateBC
