With strong westerly winds with gusts of 90 kilometres an hour expected to develop overnight, Environment Canada issued a wind warning for parts of west-central Alberta on Monday afternoon.
“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur,” the weather agency said on its website. “High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.”
As of 5:45 p.m., the warning was in effect for parts of the M.D. Of Greenview, Yellowhead County and Willmore Wilderness Park.

Environment Canada said the winds were expected to diminish Tuesday morning.
Over the weekend, much of southern Alberta was under a wind warning.
Last week, powerful wind gusts derailed trains and helped to spread several wildfires burning in Alberta.
