The Fall Classic. The World Series. It’s time to play ball, one more time.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros will square off in a highly anticipated MLB championship series that features great pitching staffs and equally amazing hitters.

The pitching matchup for Tuesday night’s series opener, in a word, is sensational as Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw faces Houston’s Dallas Keuchel.

Runs will be hard to come by and that will likely be the case throughout this series, even though each team boasts a batch of potent batters.

Some of the matchups I’m eagerly anticipating are Kershaw vs. Astros super second baseman Jose Altuve, and veteran Houston hurler Justin Verlander against L.A. rookie sensation Cody Bellinger.

Who has the edge? Good question, neither team has many holes or red flags.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

But I’m giving the Dodgers check marks across almost the entire board.

I like the Astros batting lineup a hair better than the Dodgers, but L.A. has the edge on the hill, particularly in the bullpen with closer Kenley Jansen and co.

L.A. also has home field advantage, which means a ton in this year’s playoffs as home teams have gone 23-8 and neither of the last two teams still standing have lost at home in the 2017 post-season.

I think this World Series has a chance to be epic, and as must as I’d like to see Houston win its first ever championship I am picking the Dodgers to win it all in six games.
