Swiss police arrest 17-year-old accused of attacking people with axe

Several people have suffered injuries after being attacked by an axe-wielding assailant in a village in the Swiss municipality of Flums.

Police in the canton of St. Gallen said in a statement that a 17-year-old male attacked several people at a post office on Sunday evening, before fleeing in a stolen car. He then attacked another person at a gas station, before being arrested.

The suspect lives in the area, and the attack doesn’t appear to be terrorism-related, police said.

No further details are available about the severity of the victims’ injuries.
